A confederate monument that had been vandalized after some race related events in Charleston. Removal of the graffitti had also erased some of the writing on the base of the monument, so a painter was hired to do the repairs. Aware of the controversy surrounding the monument, the painter expressed that he had some concern about possible actions by passers-by.
