Fort Defiance is a fun family type event that allows people to learn about the civil war and essentially participate in the reenactment to a certain extent. The grounds of where this event is hosted is where parts of the civil war actually occurred long ago giving it a more authentic feel for everyone that comes out to the event.
General John Hunt Morgan, known as "Thunderbolt," was a renowned Confederate cavalry leader during the American Civil War. His daring attacks, particularly the 1863 Great Raid through Indiana and Ohio, cemented his legacy. Killed in 1864, Morgan's rebellious spirit and the Confederate flag continue to symbolize Southern pride and defiance.
