Ole Miss committee formed to put historic sites in context

Ragged first national Confederate Flag - the original Stars and Bars was flown from 4th March 1861 - 1st May 1863 and was replaced by the more noted Stars and Bars because the original was difficult to differentiate from the Stars and Stripes in battle.

A committee at the University of Ole Miss is being put together to decide if there needs to be more historical context around the historical buildings and locations around the campus. The committee was formed because there have been questions posed about the appearance of confederate symbols that can be found around these sites.
