In Charleston, The Cumberland Presbyterian Church is working to preserve history. Their original building is thought to have been used as a Civil War hospital and many artifacts have been found on the property. In addition to preserving these artifacts great effort has been taken to preserve the church’s original pews, pulpit, and windows. In addition to this, the church houses a collection of antique pipe organs. They have said that the pride of their collection is a pump organ that is over 90 years old, having been used by the church in 1925.
