In response to legislation against the confederate flag, flags in the Capitol House corridor were replaced with Plaques representing each state. Though, the Confederate flag is on Mississippi’s flag, it’s not on the state plaque. Instead, the plaque shows a magnolia, Mississippi’s state flower. Though the Confederate flag isn’t part of the Mississippi plaque, there are still Confederate flag emblems throughout the capitol building.
