Sadly this vandalism of a Confederate memorial in Georgia is not a new problem. This kind of thing happens often. People hate the Confederate flag nowadays and other Confederate monuments because they feel they stand for racism and oppression. Vandalism is still wrong, though, and should be treated that way. It is still a crime.
