Confederate flag banned from New Prairie High School, sparks protest

New Prairie High School has banned its students from flying the Confederate flag on campus. The school had received complaints form students and visitors about the presence of the confederate flag on school grounds. A group of students wanted to fly the Confederate flag because they see it as a symbol of southern pride, but the school sees the presence of the confederate flag a a significant disruption to the educational process, enough to justify the ban. Despite earlier confusion, the school has not banned the flying of the American flag.
