The city of St. Louis is busy beginning preparations to remove all Confederate monuments from display. Crews have begun to remove a memorial in Forest Park and working to rename Confederate Ave. to a more appropriate name. Even though the cost to remove the monument is estimated at $130,000, the heated discussion the past few years about what the monument and similar ones throughout the country represent as necessitated the need for their removal from public display.
