The american flag carries a great historical message and meaning, but schools also have the right to not display the flag and other accessories such as clothing with the flag as well. This can legally be done if somebody was using the flag to taunt somebody. Not allowing the flag at games caused an outrage, saying that it violated their freedom of speech.
