A Forest Park Confederate monument will be removed from its present location and kept by the Missouri Civil War Museum. In the wake of other Southern cities removing their Confederate monuments, city crews began dismantling the monument. However, a 1912 city ordinance deemed that control of the statue goes to the Daughters of the Confederacy. The Daughters of the Confederacy have now transferred the monument to the museum, which will keep it in safe storage until a new location for it is determined.
