Monuments commemorating the Civil War have begun to get interest the way they haven’t since the war itself. In Pensacola, a Change.org petition began a discussion on the Lee Square Memorial which is dedicated to Confederates. The debate over it is heating up and opposition members have begun their own Change.org petition with 5,000 signatures already stating that it’s history not hate and that the memorial is meant to honor soldiers who fought from Pensacola, and not support of supremacy in any way.
