
Memphis wanted to relocate the statue of Confederate Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest from a city park. Forrest was responsible for a massacre of black Union troops in 1864 and was the first Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. African Americans are not thrilled to see his statue. Nope, you can’t do it, the Tennessee Historical Commission told the Memphis City Council.
