The Confederate Memorial is home to thousands of dead confederate soldiers. Back when the cemetery was created, the families of the fallen solders could not decorate the graves of their loved ones. In extreme cases, they were even denied entry into the cemetery. Many lives were lost in the civil war and each life meant something to someone.
