Two men descended from Civil War soldiers met completely by chance at the Battle of Richmond Visitors center. Larry Peterson, a descendant of a Confederate Colonel in the Civil War (Alfred Jefferson Vaughn Jr.), ran across John Landon, a descendant of the Ritchie family (who were part of the Union Army). Both men pointed out their ancestors in the portrait gallery at the visitor center.
