Do Confederate Monuments Belong in National Parks?

Growing racial tensions and incidents raise the question, why are national parks still maintaining confederate monuments? One of the most controversial of these monuments is the Heyward Shepherd Memorial in West Virginia. Although they are increasingly being viewed as racist, especially the Heyward Shepherd Memorial , many in government believe they should be preserved due to the historical significance and as as markers for battlefield visitors.
