Judge: Charlottesville Must Take Shrouds Off Confederate Statues

A judge in Charlottesville, Virginia has ordered that the city must take down black coverings currently obscuring the statues of several Confederate leaders located in the city. The statues were covered with tarps after a violent right-wing protest in the city in August of 2017, and the city originally planned to remove the statues. However, the judge ruled that the city could not remove the statues until settlement of a related case pertaining to the removal of Confederate monuments.
