Morrissey says he now favors altering — not removing — Jefferson Davis statue

Richmond candidate Morrissey hopes to unify the city by adding to the Jefferson Davis Statue instead of tearing it down. Listening to his constituents, Morrissey feels destroying the statue would add more wounds, but adding Black Union and Confederate Soldiers completes more of the history of the Civil War. His opponents have their own ideas regarding these statues, and are willing to discuss them as well. Morrissey does not want to glorify the Confederates position in the South.
