Catherine Templeton who is running for governor of South Carolina stated her pride in the Confederacy. The Republican candidate is responding to the recent controversy in much of the South about the removal of Confederate monuments. She believes these removals are an anti-Southern movement to take away its heritage. When asked about criticisms offered by those who would point to pro-Confederacy bigotry like the murders by Dylan Roof, she avoided the question.
