Suspended Pennsylvania student defends Confederate flag hoodie

Noah Leech, a high school student from Plum High School in Pennsylvania, has been suspended for wearing a confederate flag-covered hoodie to school. Leech insists that he wore it out of pride for his family history. But the symbolism of racism and slavery make the school feel that the confederate flag represents a form of harassment of students whose ancestors suffered under slavery. The community remains divided, and further disciplinary action may be taken if Leech fulfills his promise to continue wearing the hoodie to school.
