Ready, aim and dive! The British had an invested interest in the success of Confederate soldiers winning the American civil war. They sent load and loads of weaponry to add in this endeavor. Fortunately, for many surviving Americans of that war a lot of those weapons of destruction ended up at the bottom of the pond. South Carolina divers were able to find a trove of Enfield Rifles, that was produced by the British, in those murky waters near Charleston. These vintage rifles are now on display in Georgia for viewing.
Salt’s mostly gone from shipwreck’s 20 Enfield rifles, but conservation still awaits
